Veritas 4201 Bull Nose Shoulder Plane

Two planes in one. Use it as a bullnose plane or remove the toe piece for chisel configuration by loosening the brass locking knob.
An adjustable set screw in the toe acts as a stop to accurately set the mouth opening. It also allows perfect repositioning of the toe when switching between configurations.
Stress-relieved ductile cast iron body and toe are accurately machined and ground so that the sole and sides are flat and square.
The adjustable toe allows the mouth to be narrowed for very fine shavings with minimum tear-out.
Comfortable in the hand.
A low bed angle of 15°, combined with the 25° blade bevel, results in a cutting angle of 40° for exceptional end-grain performance.
Set screws along the side allow for accurate positioning of the blade as well as reinstallation without lateral adjustment.
Blade is 1/8" thick, made of either A2 or O1 tool steel. It is lapped on the non-bevel side to a flatness tolerance of 0.0002" or better over the working surface, and with an average roughness surface finish of 5 microinches (0.000005") or better.
Body is 4-3/4" long by 1" wide.
Weighs just over 1-1/4 lb.
